This October 27-29, the Synergy DBL community gathers in Gold River, CA, for three days of technical deep dives, insightful discussions, and networking at the 2026 Synergy DevPartner Conference. The agenda covers a lot of ground, from new product introductions to sessions on event-driven systems, static code analysis, and where the industry is headed next.

This year’s event also features a keynote from Microsoft’s Scott Hanselman and a celebration of Synergex’s 50th anniversary. Aaron Edmondson says yes — and he’ll show you how Jack Henry did exactly that with Synergex’s Harmony Core web services framework. This session covers how Jack Henry planned and executed a full modernization of their tech stack while keeping their trusted legacy code in place.

Modernizing Legacy DBL: Moving to Visual Studio Without Breaking What Works – Paul Usher, Solutions Architect, Gateway DMS

Your legacy DBL system works. The goal isn’t to rewrite it, it’s to modernize it without introducing unnecessary risk. Paul Usher shares practical strategies for bringing legacy DBL codebases into Visual Studio, covering three migration paths (wrapper first, lift and shift, and incremental refactor), when each one makes sense, and the common pitfalls that derail even well-planned efforts. Legacy bill-of-materials systems can only stretch so far before they start holding a business back. Ben Newton and Nick Sarno share how the team at Jackson Lumber & Millwork used Synergy .NET to replace their legacy BOM system with an attribute-driven, rules-based product configurator — one that’s helped them stay ahead of competitors in the millwork manufacturing space.
