We’re pleased to announce a new feature release in the 12.4 series, Synergy/DE 12.4.1.1005, now available for download in the Resource Center. This release introduces high-cooperative (HC) ISAM—a new type of ISAM file that can be modified without requiring exclusive access. With HC ISAM, you can add keys and extend record lengths without interrupting normal operations. You can create new ISAM files as HC or convert existing files to HC.

HC files are designed to be safely and efficiently shared by multiple programs or processes at the same time, with built-in support for coordinating file access. Key benefits include

• Minimal application downtime, since normal I/O can continue while changes are applied
• Faster deployments and maintenance, eliminating long maintenance windows and full file rebuilds

This 12.4 feature release also ships a Synergy .NET runtime targeted and tested for .NET 10. NuGet packages include both .NET 10 and .NET 8 builds. .NET 6 builds are now retired.

As previously announced, beginning with this release, the 12.4 series and later versions no longer include support for 32-bit Linux. The 12.3 LTS series will continue to support 32-bit Linux through the end of its life cycle (March 2028 at the earliest), and we strongly recommend that customers still on 32-bit transition to 64-bit as soon as possible.

We highly encourage you to test your applications against this release and provide feedback. We’ll be wrapping up the 12.4 feature release series as we prepare to release 12.5, the next LTS version. (See our Release Strategy for more information about feature and LTS releases.)
