After more than 40 years of dedicated service to Synergex and our customers, William (Bill) Mooney retired on April 15. Over four decades, Synergex has grown alongside an industry defined by constant change. Technologies evolve, priorities shift, and new challenges emerge year after year. Through it all, Bill helped grow and guide the company with a steady belief that success comes from listening carefully, building trust, and helping customers move forward with confidence.

His career tells the story not only of a relationship builder, customer advocate, and leader, but of a company growing alongside the customers it serves.

Building lasting connections

Bill has always recognized the importance of relationships. Starting early in his career, he focused on understanding customers’ challenges and letting them know they could feel confident planning their future with Synergex by their side. Many of the partnerships formed during those early years have endured for decades.

Leading through change

As Bill moved into leadership roles and eventually became president and CEO, he helped steer the company through major waves of technological change. His focus was always to help organizations keep up with evolving technologies while protecting the investments they had built over years of work, ensuring customers could move forward without losing stability. That perspective helped position Synergex as a company focused not just on solving today’s problems but on preparing DBL solutions for tomorrow’s opportunities.

When industries shifted and new challenges emerged, Bill’s instinct was to stay committed to the company mission and look for practical paths forward, making decisions grounded in experience, a collaborative environment, and his eternal sense of optimism.

Among his many contributions, Bill helped reshape the company’s business models, strengthen recurring revenue streams, and guide the evolution of Synergy/DE into a modern development platform, all while honoring the stability and continuity customers depend on.

While driving the business forward, Bill also left a deep mark on company culture. He helped cultivate an environment where curiosity and achievement worked hand in hand. A life-long learner himself, he encouraged others to explore new ideas and ask questions, often recommending books and other media to coworkers and customers.

Synergex’s next chapter

As Bill steps away, the company begins a new era under incoming president Neithard Foley. Bill has spent his final few months working closely with Neit and the leadership team to ensure a smooth handoff, reflecting the same care and intentionality that have defined his career and positioning the company for continued innovation and advancement.
