November 19, 2025Announcing End of Support for 32-Bit Linux
December 18, 2025We’re pleased to announce the release of Synergy DBL Integration for Visual Studio (SDI) version 2025.12.2909, which includes several compiler fixes and updates, experimental support for Visual Studio 2026, Repository workflow improvements, support for Synergy project builds on Linux, and SDK project types.
See the release notes for the complete list of changes. Download the new version in the Resource Center.
Experimental support for Visual Studio 2026
This update includes experimental support for Visual Studio 2026. We’re still testing SDI in Visual Studio 2026, and you may encounter issues that are not present in Visual Studio 2022. If you do, please contact Synergex support so we can address them.
Visual Studio 2026 support isn’t a standalone feature yet, so there’s no selection in the installer for it. SDI still requires Visual Studio 2022 to be present on the system. Selecting Visual Studio 2022 in the installer will also install SDI into Visual Studio 2026 if it’s present on the system. Standalone support for Visual Studio 2026 will be available in a future update.
It’s important to note that previous versions of SDI are not compatible with environments that have both Visual Studio 2022 and Visual Studio 2026 installed. You should be able to uninstall these prior versions of SDI if Visual Studio 2026 was installed after SDI was installed for Visual Studio 2022, but we are aware that certain workflows can cause issues while uninstalling. Please contact Synergex support if you have problems.
Repository workflow improvements
Repository was updated in SDE 12.4.1.1003 to allow automatic exporting of schema files when the application closed and to allow exporting of the data definitions into multiple schema files. Today’s SDI release integrates this Repository functionality into repository projects to make it easy to configure and use these features via an updated Repository project property page. This functionality does not require SDE 12.4.1.1003 to be installed, as SDI now deploys Repository for its use.
Synergy project builds on Linux and SDK project types
Synergy project build tooling now supports building Synergy projects targeting Linux on Linux. This is accomplished through new SDK project types for Synergy, and existing projects can be converted to SDK projects by following the steps outlined in the Synergy/DE documentation. The currently supported SDK types are
- Synergy.Net
- Synergy.Repository
- Synergy.Traditional
- Synergy.Traditional.UnitTest
A future update will include SDK support for script projects. (We intended to include this support but discovered a critical issue during final testing. Rather than delay the release, we moved this support to a future update.)
Additionally, we plan to remove the non-SDK project templates for Synergy .NET and traditional Synergy in a future update, but this will not affect existing non-SDK projects. Synergy .NET Framework project templates will not be removed.
