Clear an ISAM file

isutl -c [-l] filename[ ...] 

Options

-l

(optional) Clear a file while it’s in use.

filename

The name of the ISAM file(s) you want to clear. The default extension is .ism.

Discussion

Isutl -c provides the ability to clear the contents of an ISAM file and restore it to its original empty state.

Use this option with extreme caution; clearing an ISAM file deletes all existing records.

We recommend using isutl -c rather than isload CLEAR to clear a file.
