The RPS_SCHEMA_EXPORT_ON_EXIT environment variable determines whether schema is generated automatically, and how it is generated, when Repository exits.
Value
One of the following values:
0 = Schema is not automatically generated when Repository exits. (default)
1 = Schema for all repository definitions is automatically generated to one file when Repository exits.
2 = Schema for all repository definitions is automatically generated to separate files, one for each definition, when Repository exits.
Discussion
When RPS_SCHEMA_EXPORT_ON_EXIT is set to 1 or 2, schema is generated automatically when Repository exits normally (i.e., via the Close box, Exit (F4) from the General menu, or Quit from the General menu).
-
When RPS_SCHEMA_EXPORT_ON_EXIT is set to 1, the name of the file to which schema is exported is determined by the RPS_SCHEMA_EXPORT_FIL environment variable. If RPS_SCHEMA_EXPORT_FIL is not set, schema is generated to schema.sdl in the current directory.
-
When RPS_SCHEMA_EXPORT_ON_EXIT is set to 2, multiple auto-exported files are created in the directory specified by the RPS_SCHEMA_EXPORT_DIR environment variable. If RPS_SCHEMA_EXPORT_DIR is not set, the files are created in the current directory. Exported schema files are named type-name.sdl, where type is fmt, tpl, enm, fil, or str, and name is the name of the repository definition.
Any existing files with the same names are overwritten. Files that represent definitions that were deleted during that Repository session are deleted.
Setting location
The environment. On Windows, this environment variable can also be set in the [synergy], [dbr], or [myprog] section of synergy.ini (where myprog is any .dbr file).
