HC_ETHRESHOLD

High-cooperative ISAM record size threshold

WSupported on Windows
USupported on Unix

NSupported in Synergy .NET

The HC_ETHRESHOLD environment variable specifies the percentage up to which a record size can increase before triggering a confirmation prompt when the record is being extended by hcutl -e.

The percentage increase that will trigger a prompt to confirm that you really want to extend a record. The default is 20.

The range of acceptable values is 0 to 200. Any number outside this range will be ignored and will leave the threshold at the default of 20%.

If the value of length in hcutl -e length causes a percentage increase that is equal to or greater than the value of HC_ETHRESHOLD, you’ll be prompted to confirm that you want to continue before the operation can take effect. See Extending a record for more information.
