Making an Impact
Synergex is committed to making a positive impact in the community where our employees live and work. Being a valuable and responsible corporate citizen is important to us, and we work towards that objective with the same dynamic spirit of dedication, innovation, and enthusiasm that makes us successful as a company.
Discovery Museum Science & Space Center / Powerhouse Science Center
The Discovery Museum Science & Space Center of Sacramento is a family-focused educational institution dedicated to enriching the lives of students and other visitors by encouraging the hands-on exploration of science and space. Through development of innovative programs and special events that engage participants in lifelong learning, the Museum promotes exploration and understanding of ourselves, our world, and our universe. As the Museum expands and transitions into the Powerhouse Science Center, Synergex lends support to both the present and the future organization. For more information, visit thediscovery.org or powerhousesciencecenter.org.
Stride Center is a non-profit organization that offers hope for a brighter future by providing quality technical education and workforce-relevant life and professional skills to qualified low-income adults. Synergex has assisted with the final stages of their training by conducting high-level mock interviews with program participants, to help them hone their interviewing skills. See stridecenter.org to read more about the Stride Center.
Salvation Army Angel Tree Program
Every holiday season, employees at Synergex headquarters in Sacramento contribute donations to the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, which puts new clothes and toys under the tree for 1 million children who usually have to go without Christmas gifts. Anonymous donors adopt these little “angels” in an expanding Christmas tradition that makes the season brighter for both the gift giver and receiver. To learn more about how you can participate in the Angel Tree Program, find your local Salvation Army office.
The goal of FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition in Science and Technology) is to inspire young people to become science and technology leaders by engaging them in mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, inspire innovation, and foster well-rounded life capabilities. Synergex sends a representative to FIRST’s annual Sacramento robotics competition to serve as a mentor, coach, judge, and head referee. Visit usfirst.org for more information.
Employee Contribution Matching Fund
Synergex employees personally support many worthy causes that reflect a wide variety of interests and concerns. To complement our employees’ generosity, Synergex matches cash contributions up to a specific amount in donations to charitable organizations.
Contributing to a Greener World
Synergex does its part to reduce carbon emissions and save energy. We have an electric car charger available for employee use, and we retrofitted all of the T10 lamps throughout the office with T8 fluorescents and new electronic ballasts. We also installed motion sensors, for a total reduction in energy use of about 35%.
