On Tuesday we announced the release of Synergy/DE 9, a major new version that will have a very positive impact on customers in a number of areas. See the announcement.
Features and Benefits
First, you can immediately improve the quality of your applications just by compiling them with Synergy/DE 9’s new compiler. The enhanced error checking in the compiler has detected numerous hidden errors for our beta testers, and chances are it will find some for you.
Then, as you maintain your applications and develop new code, the new compiler will save you significant development time by finding bugs while you are developing instead of letting them through for you to discover during testing or — even more costly — after you’ve deployed.
And while you are developing, other productivity-enhancing features will enable you to speed up your process. These include Workbench improvements, dynamic arrays, structured exception handling, and UI Toolkit parent/child windows.
Finally, Synergy/DE 9 includes support for Synergy objects, giving you a whole new set of tools to take advantage of. You can incorporate OO techniques into existing applications or create full-blown OO applications that leverage all the benefits of OO programming. These benefits include the ability to develop new programs more quickly and to create programs that are easier to maintain and reuse.
Synergy/DE 9 is the next step in the evolution of your applications, enabling you to continue to leverage your valuable software investment.
